‘At Village Gate’ is a live album by Nina Simone which was originally released in 1962. The whole album shows a phenomenal musician, arranger and performer at her best, but side two of this LP is where the magic really happens. Her versions of ‘Brown Baby’ and ‘Zungo’ are stunning, then the eight minute version of the traditional ‘Children, Go Where I Send You’ really sets the speakers alight.
