In November 1999, Counting Crows third album was released. "This Desert Life" sold three million copies and remains among Counting Crows’ most successful releases to date, in the wake of which the group went out on tour, both in the US and across Europe.
 
On 26th March 2000 they performed one of the tour’s most revered shows in Switzerland’s largest city, Zurich, at the prestigious Volkshaus Concert hall. Playing a remarkable 80-minute set featuring cuts from the new record alongside songs from their previous two releases, the entire affair was recorded for live FM broadcast both across central Europe and back home in the US too, where it was synched on a number of stations nationwide.
