We're excited to be taking part in Independent Venue Week 2026! Following on from a successful IVW last year we're thrilled to once again be taking part in this UK wide celebration of grassroots music and venues.
What’s even more special is that this year our very own shop is an official venue!
Join us for an exciting week long programme of events featuring:
Monday 26th January - Bryde
Bryde, also known as Sarah Howells, is an artist whose work has captivated fans for nearly two decades. From her early days with Halflight and Paper Aeroplanes, she has evolved into a remarkable solo artist. We are thrilled to announce that she will be performing at our venue next month, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming her to our humble abode.
Anyone who has seen her perform will know how special this is going to be, and for those new here, check out her YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@Brydeofficial
Tuesday 27th January - These Towns
It’s time for our day 3 artist reveal, headlining the Tuesday (27/01) we have… These Towns!
These towns are a great local band that formed in 2022 as a covers band called Acrylic. Last year they decided to concentrate on their own original music, releasing their first single ‘Nostalgia’ as @thesetowns_ . Well known locally for their energetic live performances, it promises to be a great night.
You can listen for yourself over on their YouTube channel here https://youtube.com/channel/UC6Hu9AnNeldHxrk2c2qLTYQ...
Wednesday 28th January - Paul Molloy
Guitarist of The Coral and one half of Serpent Power, Paul released his solo album ‘The Madmen of Apocalypso’ in July this year. “Think the Kinks, Harry Nilsson, The Beatles and the Bonzos meet Noel Coward and Monty Python in a 1920s jazz age saloon for a good old-fashioned knees up”. It’s gonna be special!
You can have a listen for yourself on Paul’s YouTube Channel here https://www.youtube.com/@paulmolloymusic9563
Thursday 29th January - Max Bianco
If you were at our Pete Doherty gig earlier this year you will have had the pleasure of seeing Max perform already. He opened the evening and joined Pete on stage for his set. Max has also been supporting Babyshambles on their anniversary tour.
A genius singer/songwriter whose latest release ‘Cold Outside’ / ‘Yesterday Was Heavy’ marks the first chapter of his new solo work as the first single from his forthcoming debut album. Have a listen for yourself here https://maxbianco.bandcamp.com/album/cold-outside
Friday 30th January - Amelia Coburn (SOLD OUT)
We're really excited to be welcoming the amazing Amelia Coburn to Applestump. Just like her musical heroes and heroines Serge Gainsbourg, Scott Walker, Joni Mitchell, Neil Hannon, Rufus Wainwright, Liza Minelli and David Bowie, Amelia Coburn has a knack for making the unusual sound timeless.
Her Bill Ryder-Jones produced debut album gained a cult following, including praise from British music legends Paul Weller and Paul Heaton - as well as national radio play across BBC Radios 2, 3, 4, 5, 6music, Scotland, Ulster and Introducing in the North East.
